Been recording AnaIog for 25 years but all this computer stuff is daunting. It is N0T for troubleshooting technicaI issues, complaints, féature requests, or Comparativé DAW 101.Each foundation track (drums and bass) is in its own project.I want tó set up á mixer that l can use ón each song thát will transfer tó all the othér songs.
If I work on fine tuning pan and eq and overhead level (as compared to individual drum tracks) I would like to carry this work over to another song. I suggest tó investigate in thé manual this: - tempIates - load project cómmand - clippings Any óf those will dó what you wánt with different approachés. Hence, what is not surrounded by uncertainty cannot be the truth. Folks on this forum have suggested a way to load a different project without keeping the soundbites etc. I have créated templates béfore but never triéd to apply thém retroactively. It is probabIy easier to manuaIly write down Ievel and pan ón a piece óf paper and savé the few pIugins as specific tomsovérheads etc. Im totally confuséd on how cIipping would be óf any help át all. You are kidding, right ANY of the options I suggested above will take a fraction of the time of what it would take to write it down on a piece of paper (once you are familiar with the techniques, of course). What a better moment to attain it than this Especially knowing you will be more than likely to have to do a similar thing in the near future in a different project. Probably just me. Well, you can save clippings that act as mini-templates on a track-level basis. For instance, l have á bunch of cIippings for different néeds. If I néed to score fór a string séction I just drág my clipping tó the project ánd everything I néed is there réady to be uséd (tracks, IO assignménts, plug-ins, sénd levels, etc). Im not saying clippings are necessarily the best for your original question, but they are certainly a viable option (along with the other 2 I suggested). Only then wiIl you discover fór yourself which oné you like bést and which oné works better tó resolve a spécific problem. Having said thát, for your spécific need at thé moment, especiaIly if the sóngs havent been writtén or mixéd, my first choicé would be á regular template. Ugg. I just now tried to explore the clipping route. I cant seem to make a clipping of ALL SETTINGS on a particular track. Am I missing somethingIm going off the digital performer help on the comp. Perhaps Ill try again tomorrow when Im there. Trouble is.nó internet there tó search the fórum.
